Our 6th Annual World Orphan Fund Gala features USAID Director Mark Green and Special Guest/Emcee Former Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch . Reception starts at 5:30 followed by dinner and program at 6:30.

We founded the World Orphan Fund in 2011 as an all-volunteer organization, with no overhead, staff or administrative expenses. We've visited 6,300 orphans at 80 orphanages in 15 countries and our donors have funded more than 70 projects including vocational and transition programs, housing and therapy for special needs children, clean water, fed children and hired teachers and much more. 100% of donations go directly to fund projects to aid orphaned children

Mark Green became USAID Administrator in August of 2017. USAID is the U.S. government agency that administers civilian foreign aid and development assistance worldwide. Prior to joining USAID, Mark was president of the International Republican Institute, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to advancing democracy and human liberty around the world.

From 2009 to 2011 he was a director of the policy center of Malaria No More, a global effort to eliminate malaria, and from 2007 to 2009 he served as the U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania. He served four terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Wisconsin’s 8th District, and helped craft President George W. Bush’s history-making AIDS program.

He and wife Sue married in 1985 and served together as volunteer teachers in Kenya. They have three children and live in Virginia.
